Catalytic Converter Thefts Prompt Swift Action by LASD to Collaborate with Car Care Services to Create Identification System

The steep rise in catalytic converter thefts in Los Angeles County has prompted the Sheriff’s Department’s Malibu/Lost Hills Station has partnered with Calabasas Car Care Tire Pros in an effort to protect your vehicle and prevent catalytic converter thefts. During the event members of the Tire Pros’ staff will etch an identifying serial number on your vehicle’s catalytic converter for free. This helps our deputies identify and connect the converter to your vehicle in the event it is stolen and recovered!

The event will be held on Monday, March 15, 2021, from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m., at the Calabasas Car Care located at 4929 Las Virgenes Rd, Calabasas. To schedule an appointment for this event, please contact Deputy Knott at (818) 878-5559 or bmknott@lasd.org. Together we can put a STOP to catalytic converter thefts in our neighborhoods!
