Tragic Accident on PCH Takes the Lives of Four Pepperdine Students, Driver Arrested for Multiple Counts of Vehicular Manslaughter

Per sources at the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department, a preliminary investigation indicated the driver, a male, 22 years old, was speeding westbound on Pacific Coast Highway and  texting while driving.

The driver sideswiped a parked vehicle on PCH and continued forward colliding with a second parked vehicle which caused that vehicle to be pushed forward onto another vehicle. One of the vehicles overturned.

Four female pedestrians were struck and sustained fatal injuries during the above collision sequence. It is unknown where the pedestrians were standing during the collision.

At press time sources say the driver was arrested for multiple counts of Vehicular Manslaughter.

A press release was issued by Pepperdine University indicating the victims were Seaver College students.
