Brush Fire Erupts in Remote Area of Tuna Canyon

At Approximately 12:45 a.m., a brush fire erupted in Tuna Canyon, an area known for an increasingly growing population of homeless encampments.

According to L.A. County Fire, the access to the fire presented challenges with firefighters having to hike in  to the fire via a narrow trail in steep rugged terrain with approximately 2,000 feet of hose.

Forward progress stopped shortly after 8:00 a.m.
