The traditional Fourth of July White Party at Nobu Malibu continued on this year despite the City of Malibu denying the Temporary Use Permit for the event based on the total chaos caused by the party the year prior.
In 2023, the event was over the approved occupancy by approximately 500 people, with limousines and party buses abandoned in the median on Pacific Coast Highway.
Legal counsel for Nobu and Malibu resident, Perry Wander, announced on social media shortly before the Fourth of July, that his client, Nobu Malibu, would move forward with the annual high-profile White Party hosted by Bootsy Bellows.
Malibu Daily News broke the story of Nobu’s attorney threatening city officials who opposed the permit and announced on social media the party would be moving forward without the permit as well as the identity of the social media influencer that attended the party and shortly after collided head-on with another vehicle.
Malibu Daily News located footage of Wheaton at the Nobu party dancing with what appeared to be a cocktail in her hand. Additional footage was discovered on Wheaton’s social media account where she boasted about being “tipsy” laughing at a law enforcement officer on the side of the road on the phone as “at least 20” of her friends were driving by drunk.

It was reported this week that Nobu was fined just $1700 for proceeding with the unpermitted event.
At press time, the Malibu/Lost Hills Station has not announced charges against Wheaton who was listed as the responsible party for the crash on the Sheriff’s Department internal report of the accident.
