The response of Mayor Doug Stewart to my reporting of his complicity in the prejudiced divulging of our personal mortgage history of our Malibu residence under the guise of a City Councilman and used for cyber crimes was unambiguous:
He exclaimed the report was “not only absurd, but 100% false, defamatory, and personally hurtful.”
Stewart protests too much, for contrary to his bald statement of innocence, revealed is that he had in fact harbored the transcript and presumptuously circulated it, presumptuously using the City of Malibu’s official email server.
Attached is the damning evidence, a redacted email (dstewart@malibucity. org) dated Nov. 8 2023, sent at 5.53 PM, that clearly discloses he is in possession of the disputed record, a key to the cyber crimes.
The screenshot was a replica from a paid realtor subscription service, Doug Stewart being a licensed real estate broker. That email was sent to a private Malibu resident, who forwarded it to myself and my wife, since our residential property was cited.
Stewart does state in the email that the transcript is a public record, but it should be added one that is commonly accessed for a fee for the use of realtors researching a mortgage history of a property, on behalf of a client.
Public or private, the question is, when we were not his clients or anyone’s, why was Stewart in possession of the transcript of our personal mortgage history?
The question is pertinent, since the transcript, with its data grossly confusing the mortgage amount and total projected payments, was subsequently used most recently by a battery of imposters online.
Using pseudonyms on counterfeit social media sites, they posted pointed malicious harassments and character assassinations in unvarnished statements with the intent to intimidate us and other residents.
Those violations are harassment and a cyber crime, punishable by fines and jail.
Not incidentally, it was used by the imposters and others, most having signed on to counterfeit websites in days of each other, to further in concert cast dispersions using similar scripts based on the misinformation, including character assassinations and false implications of fraud.
This has raised suspicion that who orchestrated the harassment and why, possibly a political motive? So has their removal apparently in concert after my earlier commentary was published widely on social media, entitled MAYOR STEWART CITED IN CYBER CRIMES.
For the record, the transcript was lifted from a cyber crime complaint now in the hands of the Division of Public Integrity in the office of the L.A. County District Attorney, which I filed with my wife, Margaret Hall Kaplan.
In the complaint to the District Attorney’s office, Stewart, his Planning Commissioner appointee Drew Leonard, along with several internet imposters are being accused of electronic harassment under the California Penal Code (653.2).
